The Truck and Coach Apprentice will assist the Truck & Coach Technician in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of transit buses and fleet vehicles. He/she should demonstrate a “Safety First” lifestyle at the location. The incumbent will test automotive/bus systems and components, perform scheduled maintenance service, inspect and test vehicles, adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport vehicles and fleet vehicles as per supervisor’s instructions, perform scheduled maintenance service, review work orders and discuss work with supervisor. As well, the successful candidate will clean and maintain work area, display great customer service skills and function effectively independently and in a team environment. The Truck & Coach Apprentice will be responsible for other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate must have graduated a certified Apprenticeship program and hold a valid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract. The candidate must be extremely flexible and have the ability to learn quickly in a fast paced environment. The candidate must be a self-starter and be able to handle multiple tasks at once. This job requires the ability to read/write/communicate well in English.
